Several Contracting Bills Introduced

Among bills recently introduced in Congress are: HR-1480, by Rep. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., to generally require that when federal jobs are converted to contractor performance, any federal employee with a severe disability as defined in the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 who is employed in that function would be guaranteed continued federal employment; HR-1621, by Rep. Rob Simmons, R-Conn., to bar the IRS from contracting with the private sector for tax debt collection.
