Relatively small agencies with narrowly targeted missions receive the highest scores in terms of employee satisfaction and certain management measures, OPM has announced. OPM released agency-by-agency breakdowns from a 2006 survey whose government-wide results it announced earlier. In the new analysis, OPM grouped certain questions into four broad categories—job satisfaction, talent management, results-oriented management culture and leadership and knowledge management. NASA, National Science Foundation, Nuclear Regulatory Commission and OMB scored in the top 10 in all four categories, with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, GSA, Federal Trade Commission and the National Credit Union Association in three of them. OMB, NRC, NASA and NSF were the top scorers in terms of job satisfaction among employees.
