Some Exceptions Apply

The CRS report meanwhile noted that there are several exceptions to the general cap of executive schedule level IV. For example, in DoD’s NSPS system, the cap is 5 percent above level IV, a difference of nearly $8,000. In addition, the GAO pay banding system uses a cap of executive schedule level III, currently $162,900. The report said that in light of those differences, "other agencies may ask Congress for agency-specific pay cap relief."
