The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee has approved the nomination of Linda Springer to be director of the Office of Personnel Management, setting up expected approval by the full Senate. Springer, who currently is the controller at the Office of Management and Budget and head of the office of federal financial management there, has been involved in the administration’s management improvement efforts, particularly in the financial management area. Her prior experience was with insurance and financial services firms.
