TSP Stock Funds Wilt in July

The three stock-oriented TSP funds suffered significant losses in July, with the small company (S) fund down 4.57 percent, the large company common stock (C) fund down 3.1 percent and the international stock (I) fund down 2.39 percent. Over the last 12 months, though, the funds remain strongly positive, with the I fund up 22.93 percent, the S fund up 17.27 percent and the C fund up 16.14 percent. In July the bond (F) fund gained 0.8 percent and the government securities fund gained 0.5 percent, for 12-month returns of 5.68 and 4.97 percent, respectively. The July and 12-month returns for the lifecycle funds were: income, -0.23, 7.59; 2010, -0.92, 10.71; 2020, -1.75, 13.47; 2030, -2.13, 14.86; 2040, -2.52, 16.33.
