Yet More Guidance on SES Pay

In the latest of a series of guidelines on the new pay system for senior executive service members, the Office of Personnel Management has allowed exceptions to the general rule that SES members cannot get more than one pay raise in a 12-month period. The memo gives agency heads the authority to approve a raise for performance reasons where the individual within the last 12 months has received a raise, including a pay adjustment on appointment or reappointment to the SES. OPM said the authority will be withdrawn later this year.
