4 Wounded by Ground Fire in Sudan

Four U.S. service members were wounded when unknown attackers fired upon their aircraft in southern Sudan Dec. 21. The troops were part of a contingent from Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa, on a mission to evacuate U.S. citizens from the Sudanese town of Bor. The aircraft, CV-22 Ospreys, took fire as they made their approach. The four wounded troops were evacuated to Nairobi, Kenya, where they were treated. At last report, they were in stable condition.
