AF Enlisteds Could Face Earlier Separations

Air Force officials announced a plan to roll back separation dates for enlisteds in ranks E-8 and below with fewer than 14 or more than 20 years of service as of May 31, 2011. The rollbacks will be based on years of service, re-enlistment eligibility, assignment availability, and grade status. Airmen affected by the rollback must leave the service by April 31, and retire by June 1. The Air Force will not attempt to recoup education assistance, special pay, bonuses or other monetary incentives from airmen who must leave under the rollback.
