A recent Air Force Reserve policy change modifies the inactive duty training policy for individual mobilization augmentees and gives the reservists more flexibility to schedule training requirements. Reservists and their supervisors now may schedule training whenever they see fit within the first three quarters of the fiscal year. Quarterly training days are restricted in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year. Waivers must be approved by the Air Reserve Personnel Center commander, officials said. Reservists and their supervisor or program managers still must develop an annual schedule of training periods before each fiscal year. All training periods must be approved in writing by the Airman’s supervisor with an information copy sent to the assigned program manager before the training period. The training days must prepare the reservist for mobilization, officials said.
