The Air Force has selected 5,654 staff sergeants for promotion to technical sergeant, representing about 15 percent of the total number of eligible candidates. The new E-6s scored an average of 340.17 on tests, spent 5.52 years as E-5s, and 10.78 years in uniform. Promotions will begin in August, based on sequence numbers.
