The Air Force announced Jan. 10 that 16 specialty codes would be placed on the constrained list for fiscal 2012, which ends Sept. 30. Some first-term airmen who hold jobs on the list – which includes career fields projected to be overmanned – could face challenges when they try to reenlist. In order to re-up, affected airmen must have an approved career job reservation (CJR) first. Notifications of CJR status should be delivered to airmen and their supervisors by February. The list includes: aerospace propulsion; aircraft fuel systems; aircraft structural maintenance; traffic management; vehicle operations; client systems technician; radio frequency transmission systems; fire protection; emergency management; services; still photography; security forces; medical materiel; biomedical equipment; dental; and postal.
