AF Revises Leave, Pass Policy

Airmen in several U.S. Air Forces Central Command countries no longer qualify for imminent danger pay (IDP), under a directive issued June 20. The order also affects guidelines for using Rest and Recuperation (R&R) and ordinary leave. Airmen who are deployed or receive permanent-change-of-station (PCS) orders for a minimum of 12 months to Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, or Uzbekistan after June 1 are no longer are eligible for R&R. They still may use regular leave. Airmen serving in Afghanistan, Iraq, Jordan, Pakistan, Syria, Yemen, Egypt, Iran, or Lebanon are still eligible for R&R. Any eligible airman deployed before June 1 may use either R&R or ordinary leave, but not both. Other stipulations apply.
