AF Separation Pay Program Ends

The door closed June 1 on the Air Force’s voluntary separation pay program, the package offered to selected officers in order to trim the force and right-size certain overmanned career fields. More than 1,200 captains and majors in the 1995, 1996, 2000 and 2001 year groups who did not apply for the voluntary separation pay now will face a June 11 Reduction in Force board that will cull 332 from the service. They include active-duty line and Medical Service Corps officers commissioned in calendar years 1995, 1996, 2000 and 2001, with total active-duty service dates between March 1, 1995, and Jan. 28, 2002. The following Air Force Specialty Codes reached the manning levels sought by the Air Force and were stricken from RIF consideration:
