The Air Force has adjusted the guidelines for the new physical assessment test requirements that took effect Oct. 21. Men must have an abdominal circumference no greater than 39 inches. For women, the requirement is 35.5 inches. Those who fail the abdominal circumference measurement buy score 75 out of 80 on the other test components will be able to take the body mass index (BMI) screen. Those who fail the BMI then would be allowed to take the body fat assessment (BFA). Airmen who pass either the BMI or BFA will pass the fitness test’s body composition component.
