Arlington Cemetery Probe Launched

Amid reports that employees mistakenly mishandled remains, Secretary of the Army John McHugh has ordered a probe into operations at Arlington National Cemetery. The Nov. 26 announcement came as the Army released results of a separate investigation into Arlington, which revealed the 2003 discovery of an unmarked gravesite where a husband and wife who died years apart lie next to each other instead of together. The new investigation comes amid a revelation that cremated remains were buried at an occupied gravesite in error. The remains have since been moved to another gravesite, and the graves have been remarked properly.
