As part of the conversion of its point system for aspiring sergeants and staff sergeants (previous item), the Army has created an automated DA Form 3355. The electronic promotion-point worksheet will be integrated with the Defense Integrated Human Resources Management System DIHRMS, which is due Aug. 1, 2008. In preparation, the Army wants soldiers to review their official file for accuracy. All soldiers on the promotion lists for sergeant and staff sergeant should have a DA form 3355. Under the 800-point system used on the worksheet, soldiers can see their relative position in the Army-wide competition for promotion. They must have at least 350 promotion points to go on the standing selection list for sergeant and 450 for staff sergeant.
