Army IDs Soldiers Killed by Hood Gunman

The Army has identified the three soldiers who were killed April 2 by a comrade who went on a shooting rampage at Fort Hood, Texas. Sgt. 1st Class Daniel Michael Ferguson, 39, of Mulberry, Fla., Staff Sgt. Carlos Lazaney Rodriguez, 38, of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, and Sgt. Timothy Wayne Owens, 37, of Effingham, Ill., died and 16 others were wounded when Spc. Ivan Lopez allegedly began firing indiscriminately. When confronted by a military police officer, Lopez turned the gun to his own head and killed himself. The Army Criminal Investigative Service Command, FBI, and state law enforcement officials are among the agencies conducting an investigation to determine Lopez’s possible motives.
