The Army brought in 5,681 new recruits last month, exceeding its goal of 5,650, and the Marines enlisted 2,233, exceeding a goal of 1,577. The Navy and Air Force brought in 2,905 new sailors and 2,435 airmen respectively, hitting their monthly goals on the mark. And of the four armed services under DoD, only the Air Force saw a decline in retention. The Air Guard (875 recruits) and Army Reserve (3,520 recruits) also exceeded recruiting goals.
