Stryker armored combat vehicles will soon come in new configurations, with embellishments in power, communications, and performance, the Army announced July 30. The vehicles’ 570-amp alternators will be replaced by more powerful 970-amp alternators; 450-horsepower engines will replace the present the 350-horsepower power plants. Stronger suspensions will improve mobility, and improved software will enhance data-sharing and war-fighting capabilities.
