The 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team is moving. Two of the unit’s four battalions are headed to bases in Italy, from their current headquarters in Germany. The other two will move to Bamberg and Grafenwoehr, Germany, respectively, from Schweinfurt. The moves are part of the planned inactivation of V Corps Headquarters. This year, the corps’ 535th Engineer Company, 12th Chemical Company, V Corps Headquarters, and B Detachment of the 106th Finance Company will inactivate. The 42nd Engineer Company and 99th Movement Control Team will relocate to the United States. The inactivation process will continue through 2016.
