The Air Force has awarded Boeing Company to build its next trainer aircraft. Under the $9.2 billion agreement, the Air Force will buy 351 T-X jets and 46 simulators. The new plane will be developed with emphases on both ease of maintenance and a training protocol that would involve both live flight and simulation. The service’s future fighter and bomber pilots would learn their craft in the T-X.
