Three Nimitz-class aircraft carriers will change homeports, the Navy announced Aug. 2. Carl Vinson will move to Naval Station Bremerton, Wash., in advance of its docking-planned incremental availability at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. Abraham Lincoln will move to Naval Station San Diego, from Naval Station Norfolk, Va. John C. Stennis will move to Norfolk from Bremerton. The shifts of both Stennis and Vinson are tied to maintenance requirements.
