The parent company of the 7-Eleven convenience store chain has awarded franchises to three former service members who won a corporate competition. Army veterans Salil Gautam of Chesapeake, Va., and Robert Kemna or Miami, and Navy veteran Mark Anthony Page of Granbury, Texas, were selected from thousands of applicants who made their cases for franchise awards. The company initially had planned to pick one grand prizewinner, but opted for three because of the strong presentations they made when they visited corporate headquarters in Dallas.
