The Military Compensation and Retirement Modernization Commission, the blue-ribbon panel appointed by President Obama to review pay, benefits and retirement, wants feedback from persons who could be affected by future changes in the system. The commission plans to distribute a related survey to some active-duty, National Guard and reserve members in the coming months. “If you receive this survey, please take it. However, the survey is not the only way to let us know your preferences,” said Alphonso Maldon Jr., the commission’s chairman. “Our fundamental objective is to craft an integrated compensation and personnel system that will continue to be valued by service members, provide flexibility for the uniformed services, and be cost effective,” he said. Interested persons also can respond on the commission’s Web site, http://www.mcrmc.gov, or by writing to: Retirement Modernization Commission, Post Office Box 13170, Arlington, Va. 22209.
