DARPA Launches Teen Robotics Video Contest

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is inviting high school students to take part in a video contest. Entrants would submit short videos that illustrate their ideas about how robots someday would make real-world differences in their lives. Five winners would attend the agency’s Robotics Challenge Finals in Pomona, Calif., June 5-6. The contest is open to high school students (grades 9-12). Videos should be no longer than two or three minutes. The judges are interested in seeing students’ interpretations of existing and future robot capabilities, and their implications for civilian life as well as national security. The contest runs Feb. 11 through April 1. More information is available at www.theroboticschallenge.org/Robots4Us.
