Deployment Pay Coming for Sailors, Marines

Eligible sailors and Marines will begin to see Hardship Duty Pay – Tempo (HDP-T) in their mid-month paycheck in December, the Navy announced Nov. 10. To qualify, sailors and Marines must be deployed beyond 220 consecutive days as of Sept. 17. The pay amounts to $16.50 per day, pro-rated, will not exceed $495 per month. Those deployed with the amphibious assault ship Bataan Amphibious Ready Group and the carrier George H.W. Bush Strike Group are among the first to qualify for the pay. The Pentagon has authorized the pay for two years.
