DFAS To Process Roth TSP Elections

The Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) will begin to phase in processing of Roth Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) options for military personnel and civilian employees beginning in June, continuing through October. Participants in the Roth TSP program will have greater flexibility in planning their retirement. For the first time, they will have the option of contributing after-tax wages into their accounts. Those earnings will be tax-free when withdrawn, as long as other Internal Revenue Service requirements are met. More information is available online at www.tsp.gov.
