Initial word from the Pentagon indicated the victims were in contact with enemy fighters at the time. “Tragically, there is the possibility that fratricide may have been involved,” Pentagon spokesman Navy Rear Adm. John Kirby said in a June 10 statement. “The incident is under investigation.”
