Grenade Launcher, Ammo Made with 3-D Printer

A team of Army engineers produced a grenade launcher and grenade using a three-dimensional printer, and then successfully used the weapon to fire the round.

“This demonstration shows that additive manufacturing (commonly known as 3-D printing) has a potential future in weapon prototype development, which could allow engineers to provide munitions to soldiers more quickly,” wrote Seung kook “Sunny” Burns and James Zudino, in an article published on the U.S. Army Acquisition Support Center web site.
