Marines Would Lose EFV

Development and procurement of the new Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle (EFV) for the Marine Corps would end under the proposed reductions. And the plan to procure a Marine Corps variant of the joint strike fighter (JSF) that would possess short takeoff and vertical-landing capabilities would be placed on a two-year hold, until testing issues can be assessed and resolved. In the meantime, the Navy Department would buy more F/A 18 aircraft to meet mission requirements.
