MC Plans Further Testing of Female Dress Blue Coat

The Marine Corps is testing a new design for the dress blue coat female members wear, in an effort to bring the uniform more in line with those worn by their male comrades. “The one uniform between males and females that isn’t similar is the blues,” said Col. Christian G. Cabaniss, commander of Marine Barracks Washington, on May 19. “Providing female Marines the opportunity to wear the most identifiable uniform in the Marine Corps would recognize their significant achievements on the battlefield over the last decade plus.” The test came at a request Cabaniss made last year.
