Mileage Reimbursement Increases

The General Services Administration (GSA) has raised the reimbursement rate for temporary-duty travel to $0.585, up from $0.505, to offset the nationwide increase in fuel prices. The new rates apply to all government employees, including soldiers and airmen on TDY and sailors, Coast Guard members and Marines on TAD, who use their own vehicles while on government business when government vehicles are not available. The new rates, announced Aug. 19, are effective retroactively to the beginning of the month.
