The Department of Veterans Affairs has simplified the review process under which service members can qualify for Traumatic Servicemembers’ Group Life Insurance (TSGLI), which covers service members who incur physical injury due to an external force of violence. In addition to existing conditions such as sight injuries, burns, and amputations, veterans who suffer from uniplegia (complete paralysis of a limb), limb salvage, facial reconstruction, and a 15-day hospital stay.
