Navy Reviews IC Rating

The Naval Service Training Command’s Center for Surface Combat Systems Unit is reviewing the interior communications electrician (IC) rating, to determine if training matches the needs of the fleet. Interior communications electricians are responsible for maintenance and repair of all IC equipment necessary for communication within ships and shore facilities. The review, conducted March 25-27, is the first for the IC rating. Past reviews were deemed unnecessary because of a plan to merge the IC rating with electronics technician (ET), which has since been shelved.
