Navy To Test New NWU

The Navy is launching a test of the new Navy Working Uniform (NWU) Type III, which will feature the anchor, Constitution, and eagle logo imprinted on the fabric. Both male and female sailors will wear the new NWU in stateside assignments and while deployed. It will replace the tri-colored woodland camouflage utility uniform. During the six-week test, 150 sailors assigned to special warfare, construction force, explosive ordnance disposal, and amphibious construction battalion units will wear the uniforms and provide feedback on its performance, according to NAVADMIN 265/10. Participants will receive two versions of the new uniform. Based on their input, the version the Navy ultimately adopts will be garnered from the best features of the two.
