Just as it did nearly two weeks earlier when Hurricane Gustav struck central Louisiana, the Navy has issued a directive to commands in areas of Texas and Louisiana that bore the brunt of Hurricane Ike to account for their sailors, officers, and family members. Persons with electric power and access to computers should visit the Navy Family Accountability and Assessment System Web site. If Web access is not available, units should report to their regional operations center or directly through their chain of command.
