The 2 million beneficiaries of the TRICARE Dental Program (TDP) began receiving coverage through a new provider – Metropolitan Life Insurance Company – as of May 1. Under MetLife, coverage will expand in several areas. The annual maximum benefit is increased to $1,300; lifetime orthodontics rises to $1,750. Dental accidents are now covered for up to $1,200 per year, and there are no cost shares for deep cleaning for diabetic patients. More information is available online at www.tricare.mil/dental.
