New Enrollment Fees Nixed

With a unanimous vote, the Senate has approved the Senate Budget Committee’s proposed elimination of a planned $250 enrollment fee and a pharmacy co-payment increase for veterans who have no disability ratings from the Department of Veterans Affairs. This amendment by Sen. Conrad Burns, R-Mont., to the Senate’s version of the fiscal 2007 Budget Resolution could effectively scrap the planned fees because the House Veterans Affairs Committee already has voted against the plan in the House.
