New Vet Centers Open

To accommodate the growing need for more places where veterans can receive services such as mental-health screening and counseling for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), the Department of Veterans Affairs will open 28 more Vet Centers next year. The existing 232 centers also offer counseling for families of those who die on active duty, as well as victims of sexual harassment. Most of the counselors are veterans themselves; many have combat experience. The new centers will be built in American Samoa, Arizona, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Washington state, and Wisconsin.
