The number of veterans waiting for resolution of their benefits and disability claims has dropped roughly 44 percent, the Department of Veterans Affairs announced April 1. Roughly 344,000 claims remain unresolved, compared to 611,000 in March 2013. Their wait for resolution has dropped by 119 days as well, according to the VA. The agency attributes the improvement to automating the old paper system, and enhancement of training for claims-adjudication staff.
