The military came out on top of a list of societal institutions garnering the most confidence by U.S. citizens this year. According to the Gallup poll, 74 percent of all respondents expressed a “great deal” of confidence in the military, with 20 percent expressing “some” confidence. Next on the list was small business, with a 67-percent “great deal” response. Bottoming out the list of 15 institutions was Congress, with an 11-percent “great deal” response. Gallup conducted the poll June 1-13.
