Service members, retirees and annuitants are receiving “SmartDocs” announcements from a new email address. As of May 16, the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) began sending SmartDocs notifications from DFAS-SmartDocs@mail.mil. As the Defense Department’s paymaster, DFAS uses SmartDocs to keep annuitants up to date with information regarding how to manage their pay and update account information.
