A former Marine Corps reservist who was sworn in as a civilian police officer days earlier died as she responded to a domestic-disturbance complaint in Woodbridge, Va. Army Staff Sgt. Ronald Hamilton is charged with shooting Officer Ashley Guindon and wounding two other officers who accompanied her as they approached the front door of Hamilton’s residence Feb. 28. The soldier earlier had shot and killed his wife after a prolonged argument, the Associated Press reported. Hamilton, who was stationed at the Pentagon, was scheduled to transfer to Germany soon, the AP reported. Guindon was sworn in as a police officer on Feb. 25. She died on her first dispatch response.
