The Department of the Air Force is changing the way it ensures airmen and guardians are fit and ready for duty. The transformation, which the service is calling the Culture of Fitness initiative, entails four key elements:
“This initiative will ensure our Air Force and Space Force remain capable and lethal,” said Undersecretary of the Air Force Matthew Lohmeier, adding, “Its success depends upon the proper attention from our command teams across the department. You have my commitment that I will provide you with the resources and guidance necessary for you to succeed.”
Airmen and guardians can expect to see fitness centers on all installations open around the clock, and more healthy choices at dining facilities. More changes could emerge as the plan evolves.
