Treatment Eligibility for Military Sexual Trauma Expanded

More veterans should be able to get the help they need in coping with the aftermath of sexual assault or harassment. The Department of Veterans Affairs has expanded eligibility for veterans needing treatment for such events, known as military sexual trauma. Under the change, VA will treat reservists and National Guard members who become victims while taking part in weekend drills. Current VA policy provides for free treatment to sexual trauma victims, whether or not they have service-connected disability ratings.
