Service members and their families will be able to use a single toll-free phone number – (877) 363-1303 – when obtaining or refilling retail, specialty, or mail-order prescriptions through TRICARE, the network of military health-care providers. The change is among several TRICARE adopted when it combined mail-order and retail pharmacies under a single contract, provided by St. Louis-based Express Scripts Inc. The change follows an industry-wide trend. Officials are hopeful that beneficiaries will find the new system easier to navigate, while the health-care system saves money.
