Two Charged with Falsifying Parts Records

Two Texas men have been arrested and charged with conspiracy and falsifying records relating to rotor parts for UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters. According to the indictment, Albert Flores, 57, and Samuel Escareno, 54, allegedly made false claims about the parts and urged others to do so as well. Additionally, the two are accused of ordering “nonconforming rotor blades to appear to meet specifications when they actually did not,” the Justice Department said in an Aug. 30 press release. The Army’s Criminal Investigation Division and the Robstown, Texas, Police Department assisted federal law-enforcement authorities in the investigation that led to Flores’ and Escarino’s arrests. Both men could face up to 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 if convicted.
