The number of pending veterans’ benefits claims is declining, according to the latest statistics compiled by the Department of Veterans Affairs. The number of pending claims sits at 522,229 as of Nov. 1, compared to 883,930 on July 13, 2012. The backlog of unresolved claims was 239,785 as of Nov. 1, compared to 611,073 on March 25, 2013.
