VA COLAs Take Effect

Disabled veterans, survivors of veterans who died in the line of duty or from service-connected disabilities, and survivors of war veterans who receive death pensions will see their monthly checks from the Department of Veterans Affairs increase by 2.3 percent beginning this month. Under the VA cost-of-living allowance (COLA), monthly veterans’ disability compensation will now range from $117 to $2,527, with the most severely disabled veterans receiving as much as $7,232; disability pensions for veterans above age 65 will range from $11,181 to $18,654 per year; monthly disability and indemnity compensation (DIC) will range from $1,091 to $2,499 per month; and annual pensions to surviving spouses of war veterans will range from $7,498 to $11,985.
