The Department of Veterans Affairs is offering to help veterans who have trouble paying medical bills due to flaws in the agency’s Choice Program billing process. The Choice Program allows some veterans to receive health care from civilian providers near where they live. Veterans, however, are responsible for any bills they may receive. Amid incidences of inappropriately billed claims, some veterans are faced with bad credit ratings or calls from debt-collection agencies. Those veterans now can contact VA’s Community Care Call Center at (877) 881-7618 for assistance.
